Robin Serne
Robin Serne is a nature enthusiast, environmental scientist, shorebird biologist, and volunteer coordinator. She moved to Southwest Florida to join the Master’s Program at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Water School, and received her MA in Environmental Studies in 2022, focusing on Environmental Nonprofits.
While working towards her Master’s Degree she completed an internship at Calusa Waterkeeper, and was then hired as a versatile Volunteer Coordinator, grant writer, and fundraising assistant. She has expanded the Environmental Education capacity of the organization, grown their outreach into the community, and introduced volunteer restoration projects to improve water quality in our watershed. Robin believes in the power of environmental education, its importance in moving people to action, and the power of connecting people to nature to inspire them to care about our planet.
Robin found her passion for shorebirds in Southwest Florida while working with Audubon Florida, and became a board member of the local Audubon Southwest Florida chapter. She enjoys working as the Winter Steward, leading free birding field trips, and working with endangered beach nesting shorebirds in the summer.
Robin discovered the RESET Center through the many connections between RESET and the community, including our shared interest in the Right to Clean Water. She is a dedicated attendee of the RESET Conversations, Plant and Seed Festival, and more. Building on her past in organic farming, she has a deep interest in the Regenerative Agriculture pathways the RESET Center is exploring. Robin is looking forward to growing her connections to the community and the planet through her time on the board at the RESET Center.
