Joan Marshall

Joan Marshall is now retired and lives in Fort Myers, FL. She founded and led, in partnership with her husband, David Marshall, the award-winning New York City business theatre production company, Contempo Communications.  They produced major presentations for firms like IBM, The Coca-Cola Company, AT&T, Toyota, Goodyear, Avon and numerous other corporations. Prior to Contempo, Joan appeared as a leading lady on Broadway. (Stage name, Joan Fagan.) She currently leads the Climate Action Team at All Faiths Unitarian Congregation.

Joan’s involvement with the environmental movement began in 2014 when she joined an effort to prevent a Texas oil company from fracking in Collier County.  She attended the initial Florida Interfaith Climate Action Network Conference in 2015 which inspired her to establish CAT, the All Faiths Climate Action Team, with a mission to educate, communicate and motivate people to become part of the climate change movement.   Increasingly, the focus of CAT has been to foster the development of a collaborative effort among the various environmental organizations here in southwest Florida.  Joan has played a key role in the activities of numerous groups including the SWFL Pachamama Alliance, the Fort Myers chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby, the Lee County chapter of Climate Reality, the environmental committee of the League of Women Voters, the Florida chapter of Elders Climate Action and others.
